WHY SOLANO
MEANS BUSINESS
Those who travel the I-80 corridor between Sacramento and San Francisco already know icons like Jelly Belly, Nut Tree, Travis AFB, and Mare Island — but that is just the beginning.
With 7 cities, 6 highway corridors, and a $19.65B gross regional product, Solano County gives companies a cost-effective place to scale while staying connected to major markets.
Solano is a key location to the Bay Area market — 30 miles to San Francisco, 63 to San Jose, 22 to Sacramento, and only 15 miles to downtown Napa, with five waterfront cities.
The I-80 corridor plus I-680, I-780, I-505, SR-12, and SR-37 connect Solano County to the Port of Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose, and the broader Bay Area.
Choose from over 21 industrial parks, 2.0 million square feet of industrial, flex, and warehouse space, and 1,016 ready-to-go acres — often priced 35–45% below Oakland and San Jose costs.
Solano offers access to career-minded colleges, specialized training in bio-manufacturing, medical professions, nautical engineering, and nearby research universities known for engineering, agriculture, food science, health, and sciences.
Businesses can access a shared workforce of more than 1.3 million people within 40 miles, including over 107,000 Solano residents who currently out-commute daily.
Solano attracts productive young professionals with waterfront living, a rural-urban mix, outdoor access, and lower housing costs compared to nearby urban centers.
Companies in food and beverage, biotech, biomedical, advanced materials, and logistics thrive here — including Genentech, Jelly Belly, Anheuser-Busch, Caymus Winery, Just Desserts, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Flavor Insights, Thistle, and Gotham Greens.
Solano County’s cities, county government, and private-sector partners are committed to helping existing businesses scale and building a healthy economy for all.
