The Annual Breakfast of 2023 brought together a vibrant cross-section of the Solano County community to celebrate Congressman Mike Thompson’s return to North Solano County following redistricting. Hosted by Travis Credit Union, the event welcomed farmers, scientists, local leaders, and constituents to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of our region.

Congressman Thompson shared insights on the transformative impacts of the American Rescue Plan, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the Infrastructure Bill, while passionately advocating for clean energy and sensible gun control. The event underscored the power of collaboration and a shared commitment to progress in Solano County.

The Syar Foundation Summit took place on Thursday, November 9 at Touro University in Vallejo, CA. The Summit was a one-day convening bringing together philanthropy, regional nonprofits, and the public sector to showcase Solano County’s greatest needs, massive business development, and a visionary opportunity to be the first place in the nation to proactively invest in local BIPOC communities alongside growth and gentrification.

Speakers from organizations all over the country including New America, Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation, Fresno Drive, and SOLA Impact participated in panels and fireside chats, contributing valuable real-world knowledge, research, experience, and case studies to back up the #FundSolano vision.

Special guests We Are For Good led a 3-hour capacity-building workshop for over 30 Solano County nonprofits. The Summit kicked off a year-long nonprofit capacity-building cohort program that includes detailed monthly workshops focused on fundraising, marketing, technology, organizational effectiveness, and more.

On February 8th, 2024, Solano EDC hosted our Annual Meeting Breakfast at the beautiful Bally Keal Estate. This impactful event brought together community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders for a critical discussion about California Forever’s development plan and the future of Solano County.

The program featured a collaborative conversation with California Forever and Solano Together, a coalition representing organizations like the Solano Orderly Growth Committee, Greenbelt Alliance, Sierra Club, Napa-Solano Audubon Society, and California Native Plant Society. The morning began with networking and registration at 7:30 AM, followed by a thoughtful breakfast program from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, during which attendees explored the opportunities and challenges surrounding sustainable growth in our region.

The Rural Communities Economic Development Forum brought together key stakeholders, local leaders, and industry experts to explore opportunities and challenges in rural economic development. Hosted in collaboration with the Rural County Representatives of California and the Solano County Farm Bureau, the event provided valuable insights and fostered meaningful discussions on advancing rural communities.

Attendees engaged in a dynamic open forum, allowing for questions, networking, and meaningful discussions with experts in the field. The forum highlighted strategies to support economic growth and address rural challenges effectively. A special thanks to First Northern Bank for their generous support in making this event possible. On a beautiful morning, we hosted the Solano Biz-Grow Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Breakfast, bringing together an inspiring group of local lenders, small business owners, and community partners. This collaborative event celebrated the support and partnerships that drive the success of the Revolving Loan Fund Program, which plays a vital role in fueling the growth and sustainability of small businesses throughout Solano County.

We had a full house on June 25th, 2025 at the Solano EDC June Breakfast. This quarter’s program, Tariffs, Headwinds, and Opportunities, featured a dynamic conversation led by Jeff Bellisario from the Bay Area Council Economic Institute, Dr. Rob Eyler of Sonoma State University, Michael Likosky from Results, and Chris Rico representing Solano EDC. These experts walked us through the challenges and opportunities in today’s economic landscape, covering topics ranging from inflation to international trade, and explored how Solano County can position itself to grow through it all.

The discussion wrapped with an engaging Q&A, where audience members asked timely questions that opened up meaningful dialogue across sectors.
