FAIRFIELD — The strategy that local officials view as the game plan that will build the Solano County economy was approved Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors and will be sent to the U.S. Economic Development Administration for review.
“They provide assistance . . . and (help) communities to develop their strengths and . . . our efforts toward economic prosperity,” Sandy Person, chief executive officer of the Solano Economic Development Corp., said in a phone interview.
“We know what our game plan is and the feds will look at it and see that it is well-founded and invest in us,” Person said.
That investment could be in the form of infrastructure, such as a highway interchange, workforce development and even housing, Person said.
The concept is that federal funding and other public investment will then encourage private sector investment in the area.
The board action was taken as part of the consent calendar, a collection of items that are viewed as routine and voted on as a collective. There was no discussion.
