Solano EDC Awarded CARES Act Grant to Launch Next Phase of Moving Solano Forward
April 25 2021The Solano Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is proud to announce that the organization recently received a CARES Act grant from the Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) for $480,000 to launch the third phase of its economic development strategy, Moving Solano Forward.
The extensive grant process took place over the past nine months and will be completed within the next two years. Each portion of the strategy will have a set of resulting action items that will be pursued with every step of the larger program.
Solano EDC would like to thank all Solano cities, the County, and the Solano Transportation Authority for providing matching funds of $110,000 added to our own investment to make this project viable.
“Moving Solano Forward III is heavily focused on responding to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in the near term and building economic resilience for Solano County in the long term,” said Robert Burris, Solano EDC President and CEO. “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to develop the next “chapter” of our comprehensive business attraction and diversification strategy, and provide specific deliverables that will not only strengthen our region now, but will support entrepreneurism, spur job creation, address future housing and transportation needs, and attract more private investment as we move forward. We are excited to get started!”
