Quarterly Update: Launch of Economic Resource Center
January 21 2020In August, Solano Economic Development Corporation launched a new initiative, Solano Economic Resource Center (SERC), to provide forward-looking economic research and other resources to local and regional businesses and governments, as well as to clients throughout the Northern California region.
SERC is already underway on five different projects and will offer services from market strategy analysis to economic impact studies, like the initial job creation and economic impact project it completed for the Mark III manufacturing facility in Sacramento County. SERC has also partnered with economist Dr. Robert Eyler on a chartered study to evaluate the economic impact of and evaluate options for building out sports and recreation facilities in the City of Vacaville.

Robert Burris, President and CEO of Solano EDC, will oversee SERC operations. “We’ve received a lot of interest in providing our capabilities beyond Solano. With SERC, we’ll be able to expand our resource base and provide a wider range of services to enable the growth of the region.”
The center’s objective is to bring in additional income, as well as increase the visibility of Solano County to prospective economic investors.
