Solano EDC Business Retention and Expansion Manager

Solano EDC is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and creative individual to implement a business assistance program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate and implement business retention and expansion program activities.
  • Develop and maintain a database of project leads and business prospects.
  • Coordinate with economic development partners to provide information on programs available to existing companies.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with key industries in the county.
  • Along with President/CEO, implement a business visitation program and maintain data from individual visits.
  • Report on findings through visitation program and address issues and concerns of existing companies.
  • Serve as the key contact for existing companies to help them solve problems or challenges that hinder their growth in the community.
  • Identifies sources of funding; works with federal, state, and local agencies to secure funding for submitted projects; prepares grant applications and follows specified timelines and procedures to secure funding.
  • Present available services to small businesses owners, Chambers of Commerce and other Community Based Organizations.

 

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent real world experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in economic development field preferred. Sales driven a must. We’re looking to develop an expert in business expansion and retention. If you’re not there yet, be hungry to get there and willing to learn with a steep ramp up at the beginning. We will support your mastery of this domain of expertise.
  • Must be able to take initiative and work independently in order to carry out assignments without supervision.
  • Fast and eager learner.
  • Excellent oral/written communications skills required.
  • Must have experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • A valid California driver’s license is required.

 

Salary is $75,000 plus benefits. There is the opportunity for additional compensation based upon performance and revenues generated. This is a full-time, onsite position located in Fairfield, CA. Occasional travel throughout the county for meetings is expected. The position reports directly to the President & CEO.
