Congressman Mike Thompson Disaster Assistance Webinar

August 31 2020

Our district is facing an unprecedented set of crises – a global pandemic and one of the largest fires in our state’s history, the LNU Lightening Complex fires. These fires displaced thousands, destroyed more than 1,000 homes and left many with nothing.

It can be challenging to navigate all of the resources available to fire survivors as they rebuild their lives following devastating wildfires. That’s why this week I will be holding two webinars with experts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) to help you learn what federal resources and tools are available for you to recover and rebuild.

On Tuesday, September 1 at 6pm PT, I will hold a Disaster Assistance Webinar with representatives from both FEMA and SBA. This event will be for individuals, businesses and non-profits who have been negatively impacted by the recent wildfires. You will need to register for this event by emailing your name and email address to FireDisaster.Help@mail.house.gov.

On Tuesday, September 1 at 2pm PT, I will also hold an Agricultural Producer Disaster Assistance Webinar, which will feature presentations from SBA and FEMA and experts from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This will be specifically geared toward producers who may have been harmed by these wildfires. You will need to register to join this event so email AGDisaster.Help@mail.house.gov with your name, email address and the name of your business.

Both of these important webinars will be held over the video conferencing platform, Zoom, and you will receive instructions on how to connect shortly before the event begins. I hope you will join me for these virtual events. Know that you can always call my office if you need immediate assistance.

Sincerely,

Mike Thompson
Member of Congress
