Chamber event highlights Travis, EDC futures

FAIRFIELD — Col. Zachary Jiron, the vice commander of the 60th Air Mobility Wing at Travis Air Force Base, will speak on the future of the air base at the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce’s Opportunities in Motion breakfast event Aug. 7.

Jiron will discuss the “Travis 100” plan, which sets the stage for the next 26 years at the base.
Robert Burris, president and chief executive officer of the Solano Economic Development Corp., will discuss the future of his organization.
Sandy Person, with the Travis Community Consortium and the former chief executive of the Solano EDC, will talk about the economic impact of the base.
Sign-in at the event starts at 7:30 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2200 Gateway Court in Fairfield. The program is expected to run from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
