Highway 12 Project

The Solano Economic Development Corporation (Solano EDC), working with the Solano Transportation Authority (STA), is coordinating the Highway 12 Comprehensive Corridor Economic Analysis that will closely evaluate the potential economic benefits and needs of this "trade and commuter" corridor from Lodi, through Solano County to Napa. We need business communities and city input for this important analysis.

Specifically, the scope of work for this study will analyze the economic value of the corridor as it now exists, and will also provide scenarios of potential economic impacts of the corridor capacity improvements. The scenario analysis will be based on the economic structure of several types of previously completed corridors in California, and will illustrate various ranges of impacts which may occur, depending on details of the project design, local economic development responses to the new corridor, and other variables which will affect the ultimate economic value of the project.

The economic analysis will include the entire corridor, for which an input-output model will be created. For the economic analysis, the region of analysis will include not only the full geographical extent of the corridor project, but will also include connected nodes which are likely to experience economic impacts as a result of the project.

The outcome of the study will assist in visualizing a broader range of future planning and development possibilities, and provide an economic framework to support corridor improvements and economic development decision making.

The Solano EDC is seeking input from industry stakeholders and key community leaders that utilize Highway 12 in addition to gathering data and sources of commuter information as this study continues.
